Frequently asked questions
We already have ticket sellers for our main door. Will this conflict with them?
No — TicketWave's boat-party setup is a separate event collection. Your existing door-sellers don't see it on their dashboard, don't earn commission on it, don't have any workflow that touches it. The two operations run side-by-side. Your buyers see a checkout branded with your venue, not TicketWave; they have no idea a third-party platform is involved. The split is invisible to everyone except you.
How do payouts work — does the money go through your account first?
No. TicketWave uses Stripe Connect — payouts go from the buyer's card directly to your Stripe account, with TicketWave taking a per-transaction fee at the moment of sale (free on free tickets, low % on paid). You never wait for us to settle; the money is yours from the moment the ticket is bought. Your Stripe payout schedule (daily / weekly / instant) is your call.
What about VAT and accounting? We already have a setup for our main operation.
TicketWave's invoicing is fully separable from your main door operation. The boat-party events sit under their own organiser entity in your TicketWave account; sales reports, monthly statements, and VAT-ready invoices are generated separately. You can hand them straight to your accountant or auto-export to your accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
Different vessels each time — how flexible is the capacity setup?
Set a hard limit per event when you create it. 80-cap catamaran for next Saturday? Set 80. 200-cap motor yacht two weeks later? Set 200. The limit is enforced atomically at the database — even with simultaneous buyers, ticket 81 on an 80-cap boat is physically impossible to issue. Change vessels mid-season, change the cap. No code, no migration, just a number.
Can our marketing team push these tickets through Instagram or our existing email list?
Yes. Each event has a clean shareable link (your-domain.com/boat-jul-12) you can drop in Insta bio, stories, WhatsApp broadcasts, or your email newsletter. Affiliate links are supported too if you want your in-house promoters or hosts to earn commission — they share their tracked link, get a kickback per booking, no spreadsheet reconciliation.
What happens if the boat party gets weather-cancelled?
From your dashboard, mark the event 'cancelled — weather' and choose: bulk refund all passengers via Stripe with one click, or offer rescheduling to your next sailing. Confirmation emails go out automatically to every passenger. Whole process takes under 60 seconds regardless of passenger count. No spreadsheets, no angry DMs.
